[According to at least one researcher, fellow traveler on the Metamora Christian Jungbluth was born in Undenheim, Rheinhessen.]

• Johann Dexheimer and Catharine Faber, appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1870 in Menomenee, Wisconsin, enumerated next to John's father Jacob Dexheimer.. Other members of the household included Eva Dexheimer and Gustav Dexheimer.
• He was a farmer, according to the 1870 census.
• Johann Dexheimer became a widower at the 8 February 1879 death of his wife Catharine Faber.
