  • The following appeared on 27 June 1927 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Miss Sophia Mayle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis F. Mayle, 749 Third street, died at the family home at 12:20 o'clock Saturday after an illness of six weeks. Miss Mayle was one of the best known women of this city having resided in Niagara Falls the greater part of her life. She was born in Cincinnati and came here when a young girl. Besides her mother, Mrs. Louis F. Mayle, she is survived by four brothers, George of Los Angeles, Frank of Newark, N. J., and Edward and Albert of this city; also four sisters, Mrs. Leonhardt, Tonawanda, Mrs. F. Hall, Mrs. Robert Kaiser and Miss Grace Mayle, of this city. [:CR;]      The funeral will be held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the family home, 749 Third street, to Oakwood cemetery, the Rev. P. W. Mosher officiating. The pallbearers will be Fred J. Allen, Charles Haeberle, A. W. Binkley, John Mayle, Martin Mayle, and George Sieppel.
  • The following appeared on 2 August 1927 in the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal: Letters testamentary on the estate of Sophia A. Mayle of Niagara Falls, who died June 25, have been awarded a brother, Albert T. Mayle, also of the Falls. The estate consists of $1,500 real and $10,000 personal property. The will leaves the estate to four nephews, Albert T. Mayle, Jr., Louis F., Francis C., and George W. Mayle, and a sister, Grace J. Mayle, all of Niagara Falls, share and share alike. The deceased leaves also her mother, Philomena Mayle, and four sisters and four brothers.
