- The following appeared on 15 March 1952 in the Buffalo Courier-Express: Benjamin Leuze, 72, of 105 Baynes St., who for many years operated a hot dog and refreshment stand at the Old Ft. Erie Ferry dock on Niagara St., died yesterday afternoon in Millard Fillmore Hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Leuze was born in Buffalo and attended public schools here. At the time of his retirement in 1944, he was operating two other concession stands besides that at the Ferry dock, one on Sheridan Dr., and another on Niagara St.
Besides his wife, the former Gertrude Rogers, Mr. Leuze is survived by his son, Benjamin N; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Muhlenback; and three brothers, Philip and Henry of Buffalo, and Albert of Hornell.
The Rev. Walter P. Plumley, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, Colonial Circle, will conduct funeral services at the Austin Funeral Home, 565 Elmwood Ave., at 3 p. m. Monday. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery.
