- Prior to emigration, the family's surname is recorded as "Rodgers" in all records, and after their arrival in the United States, the surname consistently is recorded as "Rogers."
- Caroline Amelia Neal appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1900 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York, at 177 Niagara Street. Other members of the household included Gertrude V. C. Rodgers, Ernest Alfred Rodgers, Clarence Dufferin Rodgers and Lillian Mabel Rodgers.
- She was a grocery clerk, according to the 1900 census.
- She married Benjamin Leuze.
- Gertrude V. C. Rodgers became a widow at the 14 March 1952 death of her husband Benjamin Leuze.
- The following appeared on 15 March 1952 in the Buffalo Courier-Express: Benjamin Leuze, 72, of 105 Baynes St., who for many years operated a hot dog and refreshment stand at the Old Ft. Erie Ferry dock on Niagara St., died yesterday afternoon in Millard Fillmore Hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Leuze was born in Buffalo and attended public schools here. At the time of his retirement in 1944, he was operating two other concession stands besides that at the Ferry dock, one on Sheridan Dr., and another on Niagara St.
Besides his wife, the former Gertrude Rogers, Mr. Leuze is survived by his son, Benjamin N; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Muhlenback; and three brothers, Philip and Henry of Buffalo, and Albert of Hornell.
The Rev. Walter P. Plumley, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, Colonial Circle, will conduct funeral services at the Austin Funeral Home, 565 Elmwood Ave., at 3 p. m. Monday. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. - The following appeared on 28 August 1954 in the Buffalo Courier-Express: Clarence D. Rogers, 81, of 105 Baynes St., who worked as a pharmacist at the E. J. Liebetrut Drug Co., 73 Genesee St. for the last 10 years, died yesterday at his home. He had been ill six weeks.
Born in Sterling, Ont., he came to Buffalo in 1896, and entered the University of Buffalo School of Pharmacy.
[:TAB: After his graduation he operated a drug store at 913 Clinton St. for six years, and then for 22 years operated a pharmacy at Baynes and Auburn. He sold the business in 1943.
Mr. Rogers was a member of the Church of the Annunciation and of its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Erie County Pharmaceutical Association.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Gertrude V. C. Leuze, and a brother, Ernest A. Rogers.
Prayers will be said at 8:30 Monday morning at the Warren B. Austin Funeral Home, 565 Elmwood Ave., and a Solemn Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9:15 at the Church of the Annunciation. - Gertrude V. C. Rodgers died in October 1963 at age 88.
- She was interred at Elmlawn Cemetery, Kenmore, Erie County, New York.
