Mrs. Schembs is survived by her husband and the following sons and daughters: Albert, Joseph, Adam, Susie, Frederick, Andrew, Arthur, Bertha, Edna, Edward, Pearl and Harry Schembs.

[Note: Missing from the death notice is mention of daughter Bertha Scott.]

M., Wednesday, from her Home, 224 West Tupper street. The woman's husband, John A. Barlow, said his wife abandoned two small children.

Funeral from William B. Kennedy's Funeral Establishment, 367 Delaware avenue, Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Friends invited.

- Michael Schwarzott and Eileen F. Barlow appeared in the US federal census of 1 April 1940 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York, at 394 East Genesee Street. Other members of the household included Edna Schembs. Also in the household were children Ronald (age 7), Robert (5), Roger (4), Barbara (3) and Sue C. Schwarzott (1).
- The following appeared on 1 May 1944 in the Buffalo Courier-Express: Edward Schembs, 51, connected with the Buffalo Star, Buffalo Enquirer and The Courier-Express 35 years, died yesterday at Emergency Hospital, two weeks after undergoing an appendectomy. He lived at 76 Franklin St.
Known as "Ed" to all his co-workers, he was a lifelong resident of Buffalo. In 1909 he became a truck driver for the Star, later joining the Enquirer. When the Courier merged with The Express in 1926, he began work in its mailing department, remaining there till his death.
Surviving are five brothers, Joseph P., Frederick, Andrew, Arthur G. and Harry, and four sisters, Mrs. Susie Vroomon, Mrs. Pearl Wiseman of Cal., Mrs. Hawley Scott and Mrs. John Barlow. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow at Thomas V. Ray Funeral Home, 465 Franklin St. Burial will be in Pine Hill. - The following appeared on 1 July 1948 in the Buffalo Courier-Express: [Died] Peter J. Schembs of 16 Sweeney St., June 29, 1948, husband of the late Victorine Melancon Schembs; father of Antoinette Schembs; brother of Mrs. E. Vrooman, Mrs. H. Scott, Mrs. E. Barlow, Mrs. P. Wiseman of San Francisco, Cal., Arthur and Harry Schembs. Funeral from the Dietrich Funeral Home, 995 Genesee St. Friday at 2 p. m. Friends invited.
- Edna Schembs became a widow at the 26 September 1948 death of her husband John A. Barlow.
- The following appeared on 28 September 1948 in the Buffalo Courier-Express: A former professional boxer, John Barlow, 62, of 152 Allen St., died Sunday at Sisters Hospital after an illness of several weeks. He had been night engineer at the Knights of Columbus Clubhouse, 506 Delaware Ave., for 20 years.
After giving up his ring activities, Mr. Barlow worked as a fireman on the New York Central Railroad before going to the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his wife, the former Edna Schembs, and two daughters, Mrs. Stanley Jarczyk and Mrs. Michael Schwartzott.
Mr. Barlow was born in Buffalo, July 17, 1886. A requiem mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church at 10 a. m. tomorrow. Prayers will be said at 9:30 o'clock at the Thomas V. Ray Funeral Home,m 465 Franklin St. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna. - Edna Schembs died on 14 July 1967 at age 77.
