- Elsie Frances Sierk was born on 26 June 1870 in Bennington, Wyoming County, New York.
- Henry Sierk and Elsabe Oldswager appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1880 in Bennington, New York, living next to Elsa's parents.. Other members of the household included Elsie Frances Sierk, Jacob Sierk, Marcus Sierk, Anna Sierk, Henry Sierk Jr., Claus Sierk, Ida Sierk, George A. Sierk, Mary Sierk, Lena Sierk, Augusta Sierk, Emma Sierk, Williiam Sierk and Frederick Sierk. Daughter Ida also was enumerated in Darien Center, where she was employed as a domestic servant.
- She married Charles Ripstein.
- Elsie Frances Sierk became a widow at the 19 July 1938 death of her husband Charles Ripstein.
- The following appeared on 21 July 1938 in The Attica News: At St. Jerome's hospital, Batavia, Tuesday, July 19, 1936, at 8 o'clock in the morning. Charles Ripstein Sr., who was born to Christian and Elizabeth Welker Ripstein, at Bennington, on Feb. 22, 1858, died from the infirmities of old age and complications.
He was a member of Salem's Evangelical church and had spent the entire span of his life, excepting the last few years as a farmer in Bennington.
He is survied by his wife, the former Elsie Sierk; two sons, Christian of Bennington and Charles Jr., of Attica; one daughter Mrs. Glenn Eck of Sheldon; 3 sisters, Mrs. John Kilian, Mrs. George Rudolph Sr., Mrs. Henry Lapp and one brother, William Ripstein, all of Bennington, as well as several grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Services will be held for him at his Bennington home at 1 p. m., Friday, and at 2 p. m. from the Salem's Evangelical church. Rev. C. F. Fetzer will officiate. Interment will be effected in Forest Hill Cemetery, Attica. - Elsie Frances Sierk died on 24 June 1953 at age 82 in Wyoming County, New York.

- The following appeared on 25 June 1953 in The Attica News: Mrs. Elsie Ripstein, who was born at Bennington, June 26, 1870, daughter of Henry and Elsie Oldswager Sierk, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glen Eck of Varysburg, at 9 p.m., June 24, 1953, after being in a failing condition since falling and breaking her hip about 2 weeks ago. Her husband, Charles Ripstein, Sr., died a number of years ago.
She was a member of Salem E. & R. Church and besides her daughter she is survived by two sons: Christian and Charles Ripstein, Jr., both of Attica; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
