Goldthwaite, formerly largely engaged in business in Galveston. His death occurred at an advanced age. Mr. Goldthwaite leaves four sons, all of whom were at one time residents of Dallas, though of them only Archie V. Goldthwaite is now a resident there. The others who live in the State are Charles, Willis and Graham Goldthwaite. Joseph Graham Goldthwaite was born and reared in Mobile, Ala, but came to Galveston soon after the Civil War and engaged in the cotton business here. He was married to Miss Willis, daughter of Mr. P. J. Willis of the firm P. J. Willis & Bro. [this was probably her brother P.J.W. Jr.], with which company the deceased was for a number of years associated. For several years he had been suffering from failing health and had gone to California to recuperate. Some three or four years ago he returned to Texas and had been gradually becoming worse up to the time of his death. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Goldthwaite, who is at present with relatives in Mobile; four sons, Charles Goldthwaite at Birmingham, Ala., Willis and Archie goldthwaite of Dallas, Tex., and Graham Goldthwaite, who is in Mexico. Relatives of Mrs. Goldthwaite reside in Galveston. The father of deceased, Judge Goldthwaite, was a prominent lawyer of Alabama, while his mother, previous to her marriage a Miss Witherspoon, also came of a prominent family of that State.
