• The following appeared on 20 January 2004 in the Albuquerque Journal: Laura Jean Reames, beloved wife and mother, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2004 in Tavares, Florida at the age of 86. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Herbert Lee Reames and is survived by her three loving daughters and sons-in-law, June and Dick Johnson of Tavares, Jo Ann and Bill Carugno of Phoenix, and Kay and Wally Sedden of Albuquerque. She is also survived by two sisters and brother-in-law, Gladys Christensen of Riviera, Texas, Joyce and Chuck Churchwell of Ingleside, Texas, as well as several grandchildren; nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She is remembered by her best friend, Estelle Smith and other special friends in Albuquerque where she lived many years prior to moving to Florida six years ago. Services were held in Florida, January 20th and a family memorial service to celebrate Laura's life will be held in Albuquerque on Saturday, January 24th at a family home with the Rev. Boyd Morerod of the Los Lunas Fist Baptist Church officiating. Burial will have taken place at The Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque.
