Northwest Nighway. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
         Miers died here Wednesday.
         A lifelong resident of Dallas, Miers attended Southern Methodist University and was a member of the Church of the Incarnation.
         Miers is survived by his wife, Sally, three sons and two daughters.

         She leaves her husband of 40 years, Dr. Robert B. Zurier; a son, Adam W. Zurier of Princeton; her mother, Sally (Richardson) Miers of Dallas; three brothers, Harris Miers of Houston, Robert and Jeb Miers, both of Dallas; a sister, Harriet Miers of Dallas; many nephews and nieces. She was born in Dallas, daughter of Harris Miers, and lived for 10 years in Princeton. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and received a master's degree in library science from Simmons College in Boston.
         Mrs. Zurier, a longtime homemaker, had been a librarian for CBS News in New York from 1975 to 1979.
         A memorial service will be held at noon, Wednesday, Jan. 15, in Temple Emanuel, 280 May St., Worcester. Burial will be private. Memorial observance will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, and 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, in the family's residence, 7 Oak Circle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Student Scholarship Fund, 55 North Lake Ave, Worcester, MA 01655; or to Abby Kelley Foster House, 52 High St., Worcester, MA 01609. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden (www.milesfuneralhome.com), is directing arrangements.
  • The following appeared on 14 February 2003 in The Dallas Morning News: A memorial for Catherine "Kitty" Miers Zurier will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, 3699 McKinney Ave. in Dallas.
         Mrs. Zurier is the sister of lawyer Harriet Miers, a former Dallas City Council member who is now an assistant to President Bush at the White House.
         Mrs. Zurier, 70, died Jan. 10 of natural causes at a hospital in Worcester, Mass.
         A memorial was held Jan. 15 at Temple Emanuel in Worcester, Mass.
         Mrs. Zurier cared about individuals, her sister said. "She really made a mission of staying in touch with people and making sure she did whatever she could to be thoughtful and caring."
         Born in Dallas, Mrs. Zurier attended Hockaday Junior College - once operated by The Hockaday School. She received her bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University and a master's degree in library science from Simmons College in Boston.
         Mrs. Zurier was working at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas when she met her husband, Dr. Robert B. Zurier, then a medical school student.
         She was a homemaker for much of her adult life but was a librarian for CBS in New York from 1975 to 1979. She moved with her family to Princeton, Mass., in 1992.
         In addition to her sister and husband, Mrs. Zurier is survived by her son, Adam W. Zurier of Princeton; her mother, Sally Miers of Dallas; and three brothers, Harris Miers Jr. of Houston and Robert L. Miers and Dr. Jeb S. Miers, both of Dallas.
         Memorials may be made to the student scholarship fund at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, 55 Lake Ave. North, Worcester, Mass. 01655, or the Abby Kelley Foster House, 52 High St., Worcester, Mass. 01609.
