Mr. McCune was born November 24, 1916, in Richards, TX and passed away March 15, 2007, in Beaumont. Having served during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific campaign with the Army Air Corps, Mr. McCune was a Purple Heart recipient and a highly decorated war veteran. He was employed with Gulf States Utilities for over 30 years and was a long time member and supporter of the United Methodist Men's Organization, the Boy Scouts of America, and St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bridge City. Mr. McCune is survived by his wife, Mary Jane McCune; daughter, Paula Worthington and husband Les of Bastrop; step-sons, Richard Simmons and wife, Janice of Mauriceville, and Hoyt Simmons and wife, Joan, of Beaumont; grandsons, Kenny Worthington of Bridge City, Doug Culver and wife Anne of Houston, Steve Culver and wife Susan of Dripping Springs, Ken Simmons and wife Christy of College Station, Richard Allen Simmons of Virginia Beach, VA; Scott Simmons of Mauriceville; granddaughters, Sharon Linders of Joplin, MO, Kari Sears and husband Cory of La Marque, and Michelle Delaney and husband Shane of Mauriceville; 13 great grandchildren; nieces, Rita Jordan and husband Buddy of Beaumont, and Nita Edson and husband Sandy of Northfield, MA, Nedra Cohen and husband Eddie of PA; nephew, Ronnie Dannenbaum and wife Karla of Oregon. He is preceded in death by first wife, Doris Opal McCune; son, John Dennis McCune; sisters, Sally Wingard, Minnie McCune and Winnie Dannenbaum; and step-daughter, Jerrie Culver and husband Louis.
