Thomas and the late Mrs. Thomas of West Texas. The wedding isplanned for the early part of September. Miss Stephens, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Clayton Harris, attended Sullins college, Richmond, Va. and received her B. A. degree from George Washington university, Washington, D. C., where she was a member of the kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a member of the 1941 debutante coterie presented by the German club and was introduced at a tea and dance given by her mother in the St. Anthony hotel. She is a member of the Girls' Cotillion club. Dr. Thomas attended Baylor university, Waco and received his D. D. S. degree from Baylor college of Dentistry in Dallas, where he was a member of the Psi Omega dental fraternity. He served four years in the army in which he held the rank of major. He is a member of the German club, the Christmas Cotillion club and the Order of the Alamo. A similar article appeared the following day in the San Antonio Express.

  • The following appeared on 5 September 1946 in the San Antonio Light: In a candlelight ceremony Wednesday evening at the Mann Memorial chapel of Laurel Heights Methodist church, Miss Virginia Stephens, daughter of Mrs. Charles Edmund Stephens and the late Dr. Stephens, became the bride of Dr. Kenneth Wilson Thomas. Dr. Thomas is the son of Dr. James H. Thomas and the late Mrs. Thomas of West. [sic] Bishop John M. Moore of Dallas, [great] uncle of the bride-elect, officiated before members of the immediate families. Miss Jane McIntosh, organist, accompanied Miss Frances Lanier Smith, who sang the nuptial solos. Miss Ruth Stephens was her sister's only attendant. She wore a white silk jersey dress with a matching pleated bandeaux and carried a bouquet of white gladioli. The bride, given in Marriage by her grandfather, John Clayton Harris, was lovely in an ivory brocaded satin gown fashioned with a full skirt, long torso, marquisette yoke and long sleeves. Her ginger-tip veil was caught to a coronet of Chantilly lace embroidered with seed pearls. Dr. William A. Blueher of Albuquerque, N. M. was best man. A reception was held in the Minuet room of the Menger hotel. Mrs. H. S. Tullos, sister of the groom, assisted in receiving. Members of the house party included Mesdames Hubert Jackson, Kirby Atwood, W. Talbot Foster, Frank Huntress Jr., Alfred Beckmann, James McNamara, Jack Hardie, James Wiley Higgs Jr., Andrew Thompson, V. D. Want, Van Wyck Brinkerhoff, John H. White, Robert Raney, Donald Test and Misses Mary Jane Tullos and Pauline Strickland. Misses Bobbie Lentz and Almeda Towns were in charge of the bride's book. After a three-week trip to New Mexico and Arizona, the couple will make their home at 103 East Wildwood.
