He grew up in San Diego and served in the Navy during WWII. He married Kathleen Schneider in 1943 and retired from Rohr in 1985. A life member of VFW Post 1512 and earned a Black Belt in Judo. Elmer is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kathleen; son E. Dale Wood (Barbara); grandchildren Steven, and Julie; sister Imogene Greeson; brothers, James M. (Betty), Charles "Dick", half brother John. Preceded in death by his brother B.G. Wood, Jr. No services planned.
