Orrendatus Whitaker

- Orrendatus Whitaker was born on 14 April 1791.
- He was known as Orrin.
- He married Martha Harris on 20 October 1822 in Putnam County, Georgia.
- John Hunt Brodnax and his brother-in-law Orrendatus "Orrin" Whitaker were involved in a land fraud case involving dealings in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Chambers County, Alabama, resulting from an inquiry by the US Senate Committee on Public Lands into fraudulent practices in sales of public lands related to the location of Indian reservations.
. - Orrendatus Whitaker died on 26 October 1842 at age 51.
- He was interred at Winston Cemetery, Troup County, Georgia.
- Robert and Henry Power Brodnax married sisters Mildred and Olive Taylor Whitaker, and their first cousin Catherine B. Whitaker (sister of Orrendatus "Orrin" Whitaker) married a third brother, John Hunt Broadnax. A fourth brother William T. Broadnax married Mary Whitaker, whose origins are as yet unknown.
