• Charles Amory Dexter was born on 19 June 1877 in Georgia.
• Frances Lucretia Mitchell appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1880 in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia. Other members of the household included Charles Amory Dexter, Alique McDougald, Thomas Eliel Blanchard, Sarah E. McDougald, Amory Dexter, Helen McDougald and McDougald Dexter. Also in the household were a cook and two other servants.
• The following appeared on 30 December 1887 in The Columbus Enquirer-Sun: Mr. Amory Dexter died at his home, in this city, at 7:10 o'clock yesterday morning, after an illness of ten days, of pneumonia.
       In the death of Amory Dexter, Columbus loses one of her best and most useful citizens. The deceased was born in Boston, Mass., on the 12th day of April 1829, and came south about thirty years ago. For a number of years Mr. Dexter followed his profession as a civil engineer, first on what is now known as the Brunswick and Western railroad, and, latterly, had charge of extensive mining interests at Dahlonega, Ga. Just after the close of the war, Mr. Dexter, with his lamented brother, Charles E. Dexter, did an extensive and profitable cotton business in this city.
       Mr. Dexter was ever closely identified with the best interests of the city of Columbus, and at the time of his death, was secretary and treasurer of the Columbus Gas Light company; treasurer of the Georgia Steam and Gas Pipe company, and a director in the Eagle and Phenix Manufacturing company, the Georgia Home Insurance company, the National Bank of Columbus and the Muscogee Oil company.
       The deceased was a devout and faithful member of Trinity Episcopal church, and was noted for his generosity and liberality toward the church and charitable institutions. He married Miss Helen McDougald who, with four children, survives him. His children are Charles Amory, McDougald, Parkman B., and Helen. He has an extensive family connection.
       The funeral will take place from Trinity Episcopal church at 10 o'clock this morning.
• Helen McDougald appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1900 in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, at 1115 Second Avenue and also a cook.. Other members of the household included Charles Amory Dexter, McDougald Dexter, Parkman Blake Dexter and Helen Dexter.
• He was a physician, according to the 1900 census.
• The following appeared on 6 June 1902 in The Columbus Enquirer-Sun: Mr. Amory Dexter, of Columbus, has just graduated from Jefferson Medical College in PHiladelphia. He took a four year's course at that well known institution, and made a particularly creditable record. Mr. Dexter was unanimously elected vice-president of his class, a high compliment which will be very gratifying to his numerous friends in Columbus. He was given the appointment of resident physician of the college for a year. Mr. Dexter will spend the summer at home.
• He married Lydia C. Folwell on 24 October 1905 in Sharon Hill, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
• The following appeared on 5 November 1905 in The Columbus Ledger: Dr. and Mrs. Amory C. Dexter returned to the city yesterday morning from an extended bridal tour north and east. The recent marriage of Dr. Dexter to Miss Lydia Folwell, which happy event took place at the bride's home in Sharonhill, Pa., was an occasion of much interest to the Columbus friends of the doctor. Few young men in the city are better known and more universally popular than Amory Dexter. He is receiving many hearty congratulations from his friends on winning such a charming and attractive young lady for his bride. /P/ Mrs. Dexter will be most cordially received in local society circles. The young people are at home to their friends at the Dexter residence on Second avenue.
• The following appeared on 11 April 1909 in The Columbus Enquirer-Sun: Dr. C. Amory Dexter is preparing to erect a nice residence on Fifth avenue, just north of the handsome home of Captain Thomas E. Blanchard. Plans are geing prepared by Architect T. F. Lockwood. The residence will probably be of stucco and will represent an investment of $2,500 or $3,000.
• Charles Amory Dexter and Lydia C. Folwell appeared in the US federal census of 15 April 1910 in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, at 1212 Fifth Avenue enumerated near Amory's mother's sister Sarah Blanchard.. Other members of the household included Edith Grace Dexter and Helen Dexter.

• Charles Amory Dexter registered for the draft on 12 September 1918 in Columbus, Muscogee County, Pennsylvania, while living with his wife Lydia at 1212 Fifth Avenue in Columbus, and self-employed there as a physician at 19-1/2 Twelfth Street.
• The following appeared on 20 June 1919 in The Columbus Ledger: Dr. and Mrs. C. Amory Dexter were hosts at a beautiful dinner party last evening at their home on Fifth avenue.
       The guests were seated at small tables and one large table, and each was centered with a bouquet of summer flowers.
       An elaborate course dinner was served, and among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dixon, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Dixon, Mr. and Mrs. Park Dexter, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Dexter, Mr. and Mrs. [sic] Alique McDougald, Mr. and Mrs. Frances Norman, Dr. and Mrs. W. L. Cooke, Dr. and Mrs. Clifford Peacock, Dr. and Mrs. A. P. Gordy, Mr. and Mrs. Turner Berry, Miss Helen Dexter, Dr. and Mrs. R. P. Griffith.
