- The following appeared on 7 October 1958 in The Amarillo Globe-Times: Thomas E. Tinkle and his wife, Lottie, of 211-B East 14th, Amarillo, were killed this morning in a car-truck collision near Dallas.
Tinkle, 69, and his wife were at Dallas attending the state fair and visiting a daughter. Tinkle was a shipping clerk for Blackburn Brothers and had worked there the past two years.
Witnesses said the Tinkle car was traveling north and collided with a semi-trailer truck travelling east at an intersection.
The victims were dead on arrival at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, where they were taken by a Black Funeral Home ambulance from Irving. Ambulance Driver Ben Brown said the auto was demolished.
The couple is survived by three daughters and a son.
