• Thomas Elbert Tinkle was born on 5 February 1889 in Texas.
• He married Lottie Ola Fife, daughter of Oliver Robert Fife and Julia Frances Smith.
• Thomas Elbert Tinkle and Lottie Ola Fife appeared in the US federal census of 1 January 1920 in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas, at 600 Cherrry Street Also in the household was Thomas' father James Tinkle (age 67).. Other members of the household included Frances Alice Tinkle.
• He was employed by the railroad as a car inspector, according to the 1920 census.
• Thomas Elbert Tinkle died on 7 October 1958 at age 69 in Dallas County, Texas.
• He was interred at Llano Cemetery, Amarillo, Randall County, Texas.
• The following appeared on 7 October 1958 in The Amarillo Globe-Times: Thomas E. Tinkle and his wife, Lottie, of 211-B East 14th, Amarillo, were killed this morning in a car-truck collision near Dallas.
       Tinkle, 69, and his wife were at Dallas attending the state fair and visiting a daughter. Tinkle was a shipping clerk for Blackburn Brothers and had worked there the past two years.
       Witnesses said the Tinkle car was traveling north and collided with a semi-trailer truck travelling east at an intersection.
       The victims were dead on arrival at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, where they were taken by a Black Funeral Home ambulance from Irving. Ambulance Driver Ben Brown said the auto was demolished.
       The couple is survived by three daughters and a son.
