Preceded in death by her loving husband of 31 years, Joseph Carl Schuler, Jr., stepmother, Armour Miller Brodnax, sister Louise Hancock, brothers, Roby Lewis Brodnax and Bruce Bernard Brodnax.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas Ross Schuler and Joseph Carl Schuler, III and his wife Gaylene Schuler; sister, Sybil Brodnax Henderson; nieces Linda Henderson Rodino and Mary Hancock Jones; nephew, A. Blaine Henderson; great nieces, Leah Hansen, Elizabeth and Marie Henderson, Kay Popp and Holly Anfinsen.
In addition to Houston, she lived in Mexia and Alvin, Texas, and leaves many friends in Scottsburg, Indiana and Chicago, Illinois.
Her many accomplishments include Red Cross volunteer during WWII, Cub Scout den mother and real estate agent. Numerous hobbies involved playing bridge, gardening and bird watching. She was an active member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church for over 30 years, cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P. M. Wednesday, January 19, 2005, at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Drive, with Rev. Jim McPhail and Rev. Suzanne Reedstrom officiating. Private Entombment will be held in the Memorial Mission Mausoleum at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to Memorial Drive United Methodist Church.
