Adger Smyth, who died Sunday night, at the age of 82 years, was held this afternoon, at the Second Presbyterian church, the Rev. D.r Melton Clark officiating. Interment was in the churchyard. Hundreds attended the funeral. Among the honorary pallbearers were Past Grand Masters J. R. Johnson of Charleston, and W. W. Wannamaker, of Orangeburg, representing the Masons of South Carolina, Mr. Smyth, having been the oldest past grand master in this state. Flags of city hall and the Hibernian society, of which he was an ex-president, were at half-mast yesterday and today. Mr. Smyth was one of Charleston's most prominent citizens.
