  • The following appeared on 1 May 1917 in The York Daily: Charles Crumble died last Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at the family residence, 113 Frey's avenue. Death resulted from chronic valvular disease of the heart, following a several months' sickness. He was 51 years old. His wife was the only survivor. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 1 o'clock. The Rev. Alexander Carroll, pastor of the East King Street African Methodist Episcopal Zion church, of which the deceased was a member, will officiate. Burial will be made in Labanon cemetery.
