- He married Ida Nicholson on 16 April 1906 in York, York County, Pennsylvania, by license issued the same day, with Rev. J. H. Buckner officiating.. At the time of the marriage, the bride was previously unmarried, and the groom had been married once, widowed June 1892..

- Charles Crumble and Ida Nicholson appeared in the US federal census of 15 April 1910 in York, York County, Pennsylvania, at 139 Baptist Avenue. Other members of the household included Lavinia Nicholson. Also in the household was one female boarder.
- He was employed as a laborer at general work, according to the 1910 census.
- Charles Crumble died on 28 April 1917 in York, York County, Pennsylvania, at 113 Freys Avenue . His death was officially witnessed by Ida Nicholson.
- He was interred at Lebanon Cemetery, North York, York County, Pennsylvania.
- The following appeared on 1 May 1917 in The York Daily: Charles Crumble died last Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at the family residence, 113 Frey's avenue. Death resulted from chronic valvular disease of the heart, following a several months' sickness. He was 51 years old. His wife was the only survivor. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 1 o'clock. The Rev. Alexander Carroll, pastor of the East King Street African Methodist Episcopal Zion church, of which the deceased was a member, will officiate. Burial will be made in Labanon cemetery.
