Other (counted but unnamed) members of the household apparently included Rebecca Irby, Sarah C. Irby, Charles Irby, Elizabeth Irby, William Wright Irby, John B. Irby and Joseph C. Irby. Although the number of children appears to be in keeping with other sources of information about the family, their ages appear to be quite understated when compared to the 1850 census.

  • Enumerated between William Irby and his brother John in Marlboro District are Mrs. Rebecca Williams (age 23), and Miss Betie Irby (18) whose value of personal estate and combined value of real estate is very close to William's -- very likely William & John's sisters Rebecca and Elizabeth whose ages were recorded incorrectly (?)
  • John B. Irby and Harriet Townsend appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1870 in Smithville Township, Marlboro County, South Carolina, enumerated next to the household of John's brother William.. Other members of the household included Rebecca Irby, Sarah Irby, James Leland Irby, Bessie Irby and Elizabeth Irby.
