Thomas Gray

Thomas Gray was born circa 1820 in Tennessee.
He married Martha Knight, daughter of Charles Knight and Lucy Evans, on 6 August 1844 in Lincoln County, Tennessee, with James W. Holman, JP, officiating.
Lucy Evans appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1850 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi. Other members of the household included Thomas Gray, Martha Knight and Susan Elizabeth Gray. Also in the household were children Jonathan (age 18), Charles (14), Joseph (12) and Nancy (6), and grandson John Gray (1.)
He was a laborer, according to the 1850 census.
Thomas Gray and Martha Knight appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1860 in Bigby Fork PO, Itawamba County, Mississippi, enumerated next to the household of Martha's mother. Other members of the household included Susan Elizabeth Gray. Also in the household were children John (age 12), Lucy (11), Mary (6), Caroline (5) and Fannie (1.)
He was a farmer, according to the 1860 census.
Thomas Gray died between 1864 and 1870.
His wife Martha Knight became a widow at his death.
