Y., April 15, 1897, the son of John and Florence Tinker Browning. He was united in marriage to Hester Lectner on May 30, 1941. He was a veteran of World War I, having served with the U. S. Navy from May, 1918, to April, 1919. He graduated from Norwich High School in 1914, and from Colgate University in 1918. He taught English and Philosophy at Bates College, Texas A&M, the U. S. Naval Academy and Boston University. For the last 4 years he was associated with the New York State Department of Labor in Syracuse. He was a member of Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity. Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. George Felter, Worcester, N. Y. The funeral and committal services will be conducted from the Robert J. Fahy Funeral Home, Norwich, Friday at 3:30 p. m. The Rev. William Quick, pastor of the Methodist Church of Worcester, will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth South Side Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9.
