The marriage of Miss Carrie Cockrane Irby to C. Luckett Kolstad of Palesetin, Texas, will be solemnized at 8 o'clock on the evening of Wednesday, June 21, at her home in Lafayette avenue. The only attendants will be Miss Gwodylock Johnston, cousin of Miss Irby, who will be bridesmaid, and thomas Irby, Jr., brotherm, who will act as best man. - He married Carrie Cochrane Irby, daughter of Thomas Evans Irby and Sallie T. Flournoy, on 21 June 1911 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York, at the home of the bride's parents on Lafayette Avenue, with the Rev. Walter Russell Lord of St. John's Episcopal Church officiating.
- The following appeared on 22 June 1911 in The Buffalo Courier: A pretty wedding took place last evening at 8 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Irby, when their daughter, Miss Carrie Cochrane Irby, became the bride of Luckett Kolstad of Palestine, Texas.
The Rev. Walter Russell Lord of St. John's Episcopal church officiated.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white crepe meteor with over-dress of princess lace, a gretchen cap, caught with orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of bride roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Gowdylock Johnson, of Meridian, Mass., cousin of the bride, the maid of honor, was the only attendant. She wore a gown of white messaline with pearl trimmings and tunic of green chiffon and carried a shower bouquet of white sweet peas. Mrs. Thomas Irby, mother of the bride, wore blue crepe de chine, a tunic of blue chiffon cloth with rose border, and gold embroidery trimming. Thomas Irby, Jr., brother of the bride, was best man.
The ceremony was performed in the living room before large colonial windows which were banked with palms and ferns. Similar decorations on the mantels and electroliers with bouquets and baskets of white sweet peas were used throughout the room.
Following the ceremony a buffet supper was served. The table was covered with a cluny lace cloth centered with a torch effect of white sweet peas resting on a mound of similar flowers extending to the electrolier from which dropped sprays of white sweet peas. The guests numbered thirty-five, only the immediate relatives and friends of the bride being present.
Mr. and Mrs. Kolstad after a wedding journey will be at home after September 1 at No. 52 Queen street, Palestine, Texas. - Chester Luckett Kolstad registered for the draft on 5 June 1917 in Anderson County, Texas, while living with his wife and two children at 1102 Queen in Palestine, employed there as a clerk and bookkeeper by his father P. A. Kolstad.
