- The following appeared on 23 February 2000 in The Roanoke Times: Phyllis Ann LaRue Fitzpatrick, of Montgomery, Ala., formerly of Roanoke, died Saturday, February 19, 2000. She was predeceased by her parents, Malcolm Isadore and Bernice Decker LaRue of Rockbridge County; and her first husband, Paul Wayne McAllister of Vinton. She was educated at Roanoke College; received a BS from Radford College; and MA from Auburn University, where she was a teaching fellow in the history department. She was a part-time lecturer at Huntingdon College, AUM and Faulkner. She taught high school in Colonial Heights, Va. and worked in public schools in Montgomery, Ala. She is survived by one son, William LeGrand; and former husband, Earl W. Fitzpatrick. Memorial service will be Saturday, February 26, 3 p.m. at St. Martins's Episcopal Church, Williamsburg. Donations may be made to the Rector's Discretionary Fund, St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 1333 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, Va. 28185.
- The following appeared on 24 February 2000 in the Newport News Daily Press: Phyllis Ann LeGrand Fitzpatrick, the only child of Malcolm Isadore LaRue and Bernice Decker LaRue of Rockbridge County, Va., died Feb. 19, 2000.
She was educated at Roanoke College, Salem, and received a B.S. from Radford College, Radford, and an M.A. from Auburn University, Auburn, Ala., where she was a teaching fellow in the history department. She was a part-time lecturer at Huntington College, AUM and Faulkner. She taught in the high school at Colonial Heights and worked with public schools in Montgomery, Ala.
She had one son and was the wife of the late William Gordon LeGrand Sr. of Montgomery, Ala., and of Earl Wallace Fitzpatrick of Roanoke.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, Jamestown Road, Williamsburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Rector's Discretionary Fund at St. Martin's, 1333 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
