- The following appeared on 11 April 1948 in the Waco Tribune-Herald: Dr. and Mrs. W. A. Wood, 3100 Morrow Avenue, celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary last Sunday, and when friends came to congratulate them during the week they showed them the wedding bell which was used at the nuptials 60 years ago. Mrs. Wood had the bell covered with bridal wreath, the flower she used in her wedding. The bell has been in several weddings in the Wood family since it was first used.
Last Sunday, members of their family gathered at the home for dinner, and while they were there word came from Mr. and Mrs. Max Wood in Eugene, Ore., son and daughter-in-law, that they had planted two trees in their front yard in honor of their parents. Present Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Wood and their daughter, Mrs. Charles Bussey of Dallas, Mr. and Mrs. David Wood, and Waller P. Wood. - At the time of his death David Eason Wood was living in Waco, McLennan County, Texas, at 4201 Sanger Avenue.

- The following appeared on 6 January 1957 in the Waco Tribune-Herald: Mrs. David E. Wood, 4201 Sanger Avenue, has returned from New Orleans, where she attended the Sugar Bowl game and other activities. Mrs. Wood was the guest of Dr. John Paul Wood, captain in the United States Nave, Mrs. Wood and their daughters, Misses Betsey and Dixie Wood.
Other guests of the Woods were Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. Guittard and their sons, Stephen and Philip, of Victoria; Capt. and Mrs. A. Cernay of Charleston, S. C.
Dr. and Mrs. Wood entertained their guests in the Blue Room of the Roosevelt Hotel, where Jan Garber is currently playing. Other entertainment planned for their guests were a boat trip on the Mississippi, tours of the French Quarter, and dinner at Arnaud's.
Accompanying Mrs. Wood on her return to Waco were Miss Betsey Wood, a Baylor sophomore, her sister, Mrs. Brad Harris, and Mr. Harris, a member of the Baylor football team.
