  • The following appeared on 16 June 1949 in The Dallas Morning News: Funeral arrangements for Michael J. Reilly, 2209 Pennsylvania, who drowned at Lake Dallas during the thunderstorm Tueday night, were pending Wednesday evening with Weiland-Merritt Funeral Home, 1919 Love Oak.
         Reilly, who would have been fourteen in September, was boating with a friend, Don Parvin of Dallas. When the storm arose, they abandoned the boat. Parvin swam ashore, but Reilly was unable to do so. Reilly had recently completed the eighth grade at the Colonial Elementary School.
         Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William L. Reilly; a sister, Hazel Ann Reilly; a brother, William L. Reilly, Jr; a grandfather, Michael J. Reilly, all of Dallas; and a grandfather, Joe L. Darnaby, of Houston.
