- Ignatius Ward and Sarah Pierce appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1850 in Twiggs County, Georgia. Other members of the household included Jeremiah B. Ward. Also in the household were children Elizabeth (age 18), Martha Ann (8) and Charles (4), not yet recorded. Interesting that enumerated next to the Ward family are Bennett King (age 70, born in North Carolina) and Georgia-born Alley Ward (40).
