• The following appeared on 1 October 1929 in The Daily Herald: (Gulfport) The wedding of Miss Deborah Hewes of Gulfport, and Thomas Davis Berry of New Orleans was celebrated yesterday evening 6 o'clock at the bride's home in a lovely setting and in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends. The Bride is the daughter of Newton Heirn Hewes of Gulfport and the late Mrs. Deborah Bennett Maybin Hewes of New Orleans and Gulfport. . . .
       The bride was educated in the Gulfport city schools, graduated at Gulf Park College and studied at State Teachers College, Hattieburg. Mr. Berry is a special representative in the advertising department of the Times-Picayune of New Orleans. Out of town guests attending the wedding included: Miss Mary Maybin, maternal aunt of the bride, mr. and Mrs. Maybin Hewes, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, and mrs. E. C. Upton, sister of Mrs. Hewes, all of New Orleans.

Mrs. Berry was before her marriage Miss Deborah Hewes. Mr. Berry is connected with the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
• The following appeared on 14 October 1932 in The Daily Herald: (Gulfport) Thomas Davis Berry of 3426 West Beach announce the birth of a son, Thomas Davis Berry, Jr., 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 13. Mrs. Berry was the former Miss Deborah Hewes. Mr. Berry is connected with The Times-Picayune. This is the second child in the family.
