Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years William Henry DeLany Jr; her Father Eckhardt Fowler Abercrombie; her Mother Paula Dixon Abercrombie; her beloved Grandmother Minnie Krause; her Great Aunt and Uncle John and Emma Gaines.
She is survived by her children: Karen DeLany Popp, Paula DeLany de la Guardia, Suzanne DeLany Jones, and William Henry DeLany III. Grandchildren: Adam Popp and wife Robin, Jennifer DeLany Gordon and husband Larry, Evan Robert Jones, Jordan DeLany Jones, Katherine Popp Nowak and husband Kevin, Brian Christopher DeLany, Andrew William de la Guardia, Matthew Sanjian Herbert and Mason Moody Hebert. Great-grandchildren: Dakota Lee Turrentine, Mihka Terrill Turrentine, Garrett Austin Popp, and Alex Christian French.
Jolly held various local, state, and national PTA offices, honored as one of the 10 Outstanding Women of the Year by the Houston Press in 1958 for her work in the Parent Teacher Association. She was the owner of Abby's on Memorial Drive for 20 years. Jolly was baptized, confirmed and married at the First Evangelical and Reformed Church in Houston. She was a member of Gethsemene United Church of Christ, now Grace UCC, served as president of Church Council, worship chairperson, representative to Southwest Area Ministries, volunteer for Meals on Wheels, SAM food pantry and Twice Blessed. She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston and attended the University of Houston-Downtown. Mrs. DeLany was an avid reader, Scrabble player, crossword puzzler, traveler, wordsmith. She was spunky, fun-loving, wise-cracking, beautiful, and loved a good joke.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Chapel of Angels of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home and Cemetery with Pastor Pantermuehl officiating followed by interment.
Pallbearers will be Adam Popp, Jordan Jones, Evan Jones, Brian DeLany, Andrew De La Guardia, Matthew Herbert, Mason Herbert and special friend John Levy.
