         He was born July 14, 1937 in Baytown to Verl and Nellie Mae Smith.
         Ronald work for Harris County as a Park Supervisor for 30 plus years and retired in 1996. He worked for the Huber plant prior to working for Harris County, and was a deputy constable for precinct #3, he also owned S&S Western Coral in Highlands for 10 years. Ronald was a cowboy at heart who loved horses and mules. He coached little league baseball, and was a Volunteer fireman for the Highlands fire department. Ronald always gave of himself and never asked for anything in return. His biggest joy came from spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren, he never missed one of their functions and was very active in their events.
         Ronald is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward Smith.
         Ronald is survived by his loving children, Sharon Cotton and husband Ray of Crosby; Ronald L. Smith, Jr. and wife Terri of Baytown; Danny W. Smith and wife Marianne of Baytown; Lisa Henning and husband Randall of Highlands; mother of his children, Elizabeth Smith of Highlands; brother, Norman Smith and wife Barbara of Highlands; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
         Visitation will be from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2002 prior to the service.
         Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2002 at Sterling White Chapel in Highlands with Rev. Jeff Holloway officiating.
         Graveside and burial services will be at 3:30 in Fairview Cemetery in Richard, Tx.
