He was formerly a citizen of Monroe county, Ga., and removed Texas during the fall of 1850. He was born in Columbia county, Ga. Mr. Foster was well known as an honest and upright man, an indulgent father, and pious christian. During his late illness he was patient and resigned to his sufferings, which were intensely grevious, owing to the nature of the disease under which he labored, (the cholera) He Died firm in the faith of christianity, relying on the promises and merits of a gracious Redeemer. He has left a disconsolate and unhappy family to mourn an irreparable loss, besides a multitude of relations and friends to deplore his untimely Death.
