- On Friday, 1 November 1861, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Packed 6 Bales cotton for Tom J. Edwards," and on the following day, "Packed 2 Bales for T.J. Edwards, one light 360, Making 8 Bales, charge no toll as he is in the Army."
