- The following appeared on 24 May 1916 in The Montgomery Advertiser: Mrs.Laura Holt Pickett died at her residence, No. 215 South Court street, at a late hour Tuesday night following a brief illness. Mrs. Pickett was seventy-six years of age, a resident of Montgomery all her life.
Mrs. Pickett was a prominent figure in social Montgomery during her girlhood and early womanhood. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. M. Davidson, and one son, Albert J. Pickett, both of this city.
Funeral services will take place from the St. John's Episcopal church Wednesday afternoon at 4:40 o'clock. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. - Albert James Pickett died on 19 March 1944 at age 78 in Montgomery, Alabama.
