Mr. Manning died Wednesday at his Northeast Portland Home. He was born at Homer, La., and had been employed at the port since 1949.
Surviving are three sons, Eugene, Ricky and Dewayne, all of Portland; four daughters, Martinia Manning, Sheree Manning and Andrena Penn, all of Portland, and Sonya Hutchinson, Colorado Springs, Colo; two brothers, Virgil L. of Minden, La., and Jerimiah of Milan, Mich; four sisters, Enolia Manning and Cloteal Washington, both of Dayton, Ohio, Carrie L. Grigsby of Portland and Ruthie M. Rhodes of Homer, La; and 11 grandchildren.
