Levi Moses Manning was born on 22 September 1920 in Homer, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana.
He married Olive Bell Byrd, daughter of Leonard Anderson Byrd and Eunice Irene Terrell, in 1942.
Levi Moses Manning registered for the draft on 16 February 1942 in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana, while living with his father in Homer, and employed by Silas Mason Company in Minden, Webster Parish.
The following appeared on 30 July 1953 in The Oregonian: [Born] To Mr. and Mrs. Levi M. Manning, 545 N. E. Cook, July 11, a daughter.
Levi Moses Manning died on 23 November 1983 at age 63 in Multnomah County, Oregon.
His wife Olive Bell Byrd became a widow at his death.
He was interred at Rose City Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.
The following appeared in The Oregonian: Funeral for Levi M. Manning, a foreman at the Port of Portland, will be noon Monday at Rose City Cemetery. He was 63.
Mr. Manning died Wednesday at his Northeast Portland Home. He was born at Homer, La., and had been employed at the port since 1949.
Surviving are three sons, Eugene, Ricky and Dewayne, all of Portland; four daughters, Martinia Manning, Sheree Manning and Andrena Penn, all of Portland, and Sonya Hutchinson, Colorado Springs, Colo; two brothers, Virgil L. of Minden, La., and Jerimiah of Milan, Mich; four sisters, Enolia Manning and Cloteal Washington, both of Dayton, Ohio, Carrie L. Grigsby of Portland and Ruthie M. Rhodes of Homer, La; and 11 grandchildren.
