William McGee O'Neal

- William McGee O'Neal was born on 1 September 1806 in Georgia.
- He married Lucinda Ann O'Banion, daughter of Green Hamilton O'Banion and Hulda Teer, on 26 December 1835 in Talladega County, Alabama.
- On Friday, 11 September 1857, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Mr Oneal has worked 8 days, made new hand shaft & fixed the posts for props &c, paid him $15."
- William McGee O'Neal and Lucinda Ann O'Banion appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1860 in Goshen PO, Walker County, Texas, enumerated next to John and Eliza Lindley. Lucinda's brother William O'Banion was married to John Lindley's sister Rachel.. Also in the household were children Caroline (age 23), James R (21), Mary Ann (19), Sarah Ann (17), William (15), Benjamin (13), George W. (11) John (10), Green H., age 8, Thomas J. (6) and Robert J. O'Neal.

- On Tuesday, 30 July 1861, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Mr Oneal has been fixing Gin gear &c yesterday & to day," and on the following day, "Some hands working on the Bridge, Mr Oneal fraiming it."
- On Monday, 14 October 1861, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Some hands working with Mr Oneal on screw. . . ." And on the following, "Finished screw and packed 4 Bales cotton."
- On Wednesday, 18 December 1861, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Split the Screw pin at the Bottom," and on the following day, "Esaw & Mr Oneal fixing Band &c for Screw."
- On 23 January 1862, William O'Neal agreed to pay Green Wood $20 for goods bought of Wm M. Rice & Co., and "paid by work."
- On Monday, 5 December 1864, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "John & Dan to Mr Oneal," and on the following day, "John & Dan to Mr Oneal."
- On Monday, 11 September 1865, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Mr Oneal has 4 hands puting new Splices to Screw Posts," and on the 13th, "Mr Oneal finished Splicing two Screw Post and Packed a bale."
