- The following appeared on 28 May 1934 in The Dallas Morning News: Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Anderson Hopkins, 81, pioneer Dallas citizen who died Friday in Laredo where she has been living for the last twelve years, will be held Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the home of her son, Robert N. Miers, 4533 South Versailles, in Highland Park West.
Bishop Harry T. Moore and the Rev. Valentine Lee of the Episcopal Church will officiate, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Duff, W. W. Fisher, Raymond Lawther, Henry Ferguson, Harry Lockett and Will Thompson.
Mrs. Hopkins came to Dallas more than sixty years ago from her home in Nashville, Tenn., as the bride of Robert N. Miers [sic]. She was the last living charter member of the Dallas Standard Club. After the death of her first husband she was married in 1892 to S. D. Hopkins.
She is survived by her son, Robert N. Miers; a daughter, Miss Carolyn Hopkins; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of Dallas.
