Easley. In this census, Anselm was enumerated as "Alexander" Easley. Also in the household were children Samuel (age 17), James (14) and Anna (12), as well as drygoods merchant Charles DeComsey.

- The following appeared on 19 January 1879 in the Galveston Daily News: (Grimes County) . . . The Tablet records the death of another of Grimes's oldest and most valued citizens--Col. A. B. Easley, at his residence near Plantersville, on the morning of the 15th inst., in about the 62d year of his age.
- The following appeared on 24 January 1879 in the Brenham Weekly Banner: Mr. W. R. Howard, a respected citizen of Grimes county died of black jaundice - - - Col. A. B. Easley, another of Grimes' oldest and best citizens, died at Plantersville on the 15th inst. aged 62.
- The following appeared on 30 January 1879 in the Austin Weekly Democratic Statesman: Col. A. B. Easley and H. G. Howard, both model citizens, the latter having lived in Grimes county forty and the former twenty-five years, are no more.
