- The following appeared in The Newark Advocate: Ill the past seven months and in a serious condition a few weeks, 57-year-old John Albert Healy, cost accountant at the Newark Ohio Co., died at 1:30 p. m. Saturday in the home, 870 E. Main St.
He had been associated with the Newark Ohio Co. 35 years. Born Jan. 24, 1903, he was the son of the late Michael T. and Ella (Curley) Healy, formerly of 20 N. Cedar St.
A graduate of Blessed Sacrament High School, he attended the University of Dayton and was graduated cumma cum laude, from the Electrical Engineering Department in 1923. Prior to his association with the Wehrle Co. he was employed as a civilian worker in the War Department in Washington, D. C.
He had been active for several years in Newark bowling circles, and in his early life he played baseball and football. He was a member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament and the holy Name Society of the Church.
A member of the Junior Executive Board of the Newark Stove Co., he was also a member of Newark Lodge of Elks; Old Timers Baseball Association; Old timers Football Association; a member of Newark Stove Co. Golf Leage and a charter member of the Shamrock Club, Columbus.
Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Isabelle Kocher, RN; two sons and a daughter, John T. Healy and Michael T. Healy of Newark and Mrs. James V. Thornton of Columbus; also three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Egan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 9 a. m. Tuesday with a requiem mass in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, by Charles A. McGonagle.
