He is survived by his: wife of 21 years, Gloria Kendrick Bunn; daughter, Betty Payne Williams; granddaughter, Deborah Williams DeMarco (Raymond); grandsons, Darryl Williams (Leasa), Kevin Williams and Jeffrey Williams (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Alan DeMarco, Philip DeMarco (Amanda), Kristi and Kerry Williams; brothers, Edgar Bunn, Jacob P. Bunn and Maurice Bunn; sisters, Louise Bunn Barnard, Frances Bunn Phillips and Marian Bunn Landon.
Searcy retired from Zeigler Corporation after 31 years of service. He was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church in Lipscomb, serving on the Board of Deacons of the church for 64 years, numerous times as the Chairman. He also taught a men's Bible class for many years.
Searcy enjoyed bird hunting and golfing during his working years. Much of his leisure time after retirement was spent pitching horse shoes. This was a hobby he began with his brothers, but grew into an active Horse Shoe Club of other retired relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 11, 2008 at Union Baptist Church with burial following at Highland Memorial Gardens. Rev. David Mahaffey and Rev. Dewey Mayfield will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church.
