I am now ingaged in getting out Ore for Red Mountain [Iron & Coal] Co. Buyle? & Kelly has several works in operation and they have Sent me here for a while in charge of a Squad of hands. I am getting along very well. Buyle? & Kelly has always been prompt heretofore, I will get my money after a while. every body is complaining of hard times. I hope we will have [better] times after a while. with the exception of an occasional Spell of asthma, my health is very good. do you here from Geooften? I want to write to him, send me his address. I have been looking around for a place for Frank but I cant find any thing that will suit him. I think the Farm will suit him best. Sorry he didnt get his money. I have nothing new to write give my love to Mary & K.[&] Julie. When you write, direct to Ironton.

• The following appeared on 27 January 1920 in The Montgomery Advertiser: Mr. Frank D. Cook died at his residence at Pike Road Monday evening at 7 o'clock following a brief illness. He was 77 years old and is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Mary W. Blue of Montgomery, Mrs. H. R. Adams of Birmingham and Mrs. T. W. Graff of Robinson Springs and one brother, George W. Cook of Montgomery. Funeral services will take place from the Leak-McCarty chapel Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock and interment will follow at Oakwood.
