  • Thompson J. Teague and Mary E. Ray appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1870 in Cleburne County, Alabama, enumerated next to the family of T. J.'s deceased brother Elijah.. Other members of the household included Joshuah Teague, William H. Teague, Sarah H. Teague, Oliver D. Teague, Elijah M. Teague and Agnes Caldwell.
  • There is no son "Joshuah" enumerated in the household of Thompson and Mary Teague in 1880, although he only would have been about 14 or 15 years old, while older brothers Oliver and Elijah are present.
