- (?) Jones married Frank Kempe, son of Frank Kempe and Ida Alwine Menzer.
- The following appeared on 12 June 1958 in The San Saba News: Holiday weekend visitors in the homes of Mrs. J. A. Jones and Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Jackson included Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kempe and their three grandsons, Max Dyson and Robbie and Don Perry, of Fort Worth; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Baird and daughter, Jo Dora, of Houston; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Felts and daughters, Ramona and Cathy, and Charlie Smith of Pecos; Dorothy and Paul Douglas Jackson from Alamogordo, N. M. Mrs. Baird and daughter remained with her aunt and grandmother.
- The following appeared on 17 October 1963 in The San Saba News: Mrs. J. A. Jones was honored with a surprise dinner on her 92nd birthday Sunday, Oct. 13, in the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jackson.
Present for the occasion were her son, J. W. McCracken, a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kemp, all of Ft. Worth.
Grandchildren attending were Mr. and Mrs. Al Pulsifer, Elwood and Roy Dornell; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Baird and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. Al Perry, Robbie and Don, all of Ft. Worth; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kemp and Emily; and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Kemp and Lauri all of Arlington.
Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Cude and daughter of San Antonio; Mrs. Maude Boyd, Mrs. Grace Timberlake and daughter, Mrs. VOllie Winslow and Mrs. Dick Smelser of San Saba.
- The following appeared on 7 July 1966 in The San Saba News & Star: Mrs. Joseph A. Jones, 94, died July 3 in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Raymond Jackson, of San Saba. A resident of the county off and on for the past 50 years, Mrs. Jones had lived in San Saba since 1944.
Born Josephine Bourke in Travis county Oct. 14, 1871, her parents were Joe Bourke and Emily Smith Bourke. A Methodist, she married Joseph A. Jones in 1894, he died in 1955.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 5, at 2 p.m. in Howell-Doran Chapel with the Rev. W. L. White officiating. Burial was in Chappel Cemetery with Howell-Doran Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Frank Kempe of Ft. Worth, Mrs. Jackson of San Saba; 29 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
