• Giovanni da Rin was born on 1 June 1880 in Italy likely in Vigo-Laggio, Cadore.
• He was known as John in the United States.
• He married Jennie Margaret Agnoli circa 1903.
• It appears that Giovanni da Rin and Jennie Margaret Agnoli arrived in New York on 3 October 1903 aboard the SS New York, identified on the passenger manifest as Giovannia (age 21) and Giov Bat Da Rin Zoldan (age 23), and apparently traveling with them was Cesare Darin Puppel (age 23), all bound for Joliet, Illinois. According to the censuses of 1910, 1920 and 1930, John and Jennie Darin immigrated in 1903. On the same page of the passenger manifest was another Da Rin group, some of whom where US citizens, including Vittore (31), Maria 32, Guiseppe (32), Luigi (39), Eugenio (25), Francesco (26), and Sante (48), from Laggio and Vigo Cadore, who likely were cousins of the children (born 1860s-1880s) of Bartholomeo Da Rin known to us.
• Giovanni da Rin and Jennie Margaret Agnoli appeared in the US federal census of 15 April 1910 in DeKalb, DeKalb County, Illinois, at 1134 East Locust. Other members of the household included Annie Darin. Among the five boarders were Martin Darin (age 35), Tom Puppel (age 24) and John Darin (age 31), all born in Italy.
• He was employed as a painter by a steel mill, according to the 1910 census.
• Giovanni da Rin and Jennie Margaret Agnoli appeared in the US federal census of 1 January 1920 in Anderson, Madison County, Indiana, at 1724 Hendricks Street. Other members of the household included Annie Darin, Rosalie Darin, Emma M. Darin, Christine M. Darin and Josephine Darin.
• He was employed in a metal works, according to the 1920 census.
• Giovanni da Rin appeared in the US federal census of 1 April 1930 in Montgomery Township, Jennings County, Indiana.
• He was a building carpenter, according to the 1930 census.
• Giovanni da Rin became a widower at the 17 June 1935 death of his wife Jennie Margaret Agnoli.
• He married Lula Frances Carter, daughter of George Thomas Carter and Sarah Emma Burchan, in 1936.
• The SSDI lists Indiana as the last residence of record of Giovanni da Rin.
• Giovanni da Rin died in June 1964.
• His wife Lula Frances Carter became a widow at his death.
• He was interred at Coffee Creek Baptist Cemetery, Paris Crossing, Jennings County, Indiana.
