  • On Thursday, 24 November 1859, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Sent 30 hands to pick cotton for Mr Waters at 80 cents per Hundred," and on Friday, "30 hands picking cotton at Mr Waters." On Saturday, the 26th, "30 hands picking cotton for Waters & for Mr Seales, 2750 lbs at 80 per Hundred, $22."
  • On Tuesday, 31 January 1860, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Sent 3 hands to Mr Seals, to roll logs."
  • B. E. Seals and E. (?) appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1860 in Montgomery PO, Montgomery County, Texas. Other members of the household included E. A. Seals, W. A. Seals, W. H. Seals, J. Seals, D. Seals, F. S. Seals and M. Seals. Also in the household was farmer C. W. Perry, age 22, possibly a brother-in-law, and two adult male slaves. The family was enumerated between the households of William Watters and G. W. Reding, near Greenwood.
