- Cecilia Leonard was born on 2 December 1880 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana.
- She married Clarence Ellerbe, son of Nicholas Cobbs Ellerbe and Charlotte Walker Cobbs, circa 1905.
- Albert Leonard appeared in the US federal census of 15 April 1910 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana, at 902 Commerce. Other members of the household included Cecilia Leonard, Clarence Ellerbe, Lucy Leonard Ellerbe, Cecilia Ellerbe and Charlotte Walker Cobbs.
- Clarence Ellerbe registered for the draft on 11 September 1918 in Caddo Parish, Louisiana, while living with hs wife Cecilia at 520 Fanin Street in Shreveport, and self-employed as a planter.

- Cecilia Leonard became a widow at the 6 August 1937 death of her husband Clarence Ellerbe.
- The following appeared on 8 August 1937 in the Monroe Morning World: (Shreveport, Aug. 7) Clarence Ellerbe, 65, for 40 years a resident of Shreveport and one of the leading planters of the Red river valley for years, died last night at his home here, following a heart attack.
He had been in ill health several years which forced his retirement from business. He is survived by his widow and three daughters, Mrs. Sam Webb Smith, Mrs. Charles Egan and Miss Mollie Ellerbe, all of Shreveport, and a sister, Mrs. W. B. Hall of Selma, Ala., was born at Montgomery, Ala., and was a grandson of Bishop Nicholas Cobb, first Episcopal bishop of Alabama.
He came to Shreveport in 1897 as assistant to the president of the L. R. and N. railroad, now the Louisiana and Arkansas, but later engaged in planting. - Cecilia Leonard died on 25 December 1967 at age 87 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana, at Highland Hospital.
- She was interred at Greenwood Cemetery, Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana.
- The following appeared in a local newspaper: Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church for Mrs. Clarence Ellerbe, 87, who died Monday at 8:30 a.m. in Highland Hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Ellerbe was a native and lifelong resident of Shreveport. She was the former Cecilia Leonard, daughter of the late Albert H. and Lucy Lee Howell Leonard of Greenwood. Mrs. Ellerbe was the widow of the late Clarence Ellerbe.
Mrs. Ellerbe was a graduate of Sophie Newcomb College.
Mrs. Ellerbe has served as a member of the Caddo Parish School Board, the Library Board and the Little Theatre Board. She was one of the founders of the Woman's Department Club and served for many years as a director.
She was a well known poet and her poems had been published in leading poetry magazines, and newspapers in New York, Boston, Dallas and Shreveport.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Charles D. Egan, Mrs. Sam Smith and Mrs. John S. Webb, all of Shreveport, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Dr. J. Lawrence Plumley, rector at St. Mark's Episcopal Church will officiate at the funeral services. He will be assisted by the Rev. Ralph McMichael, assistant rector at St. Mark's. Funeral arrangements are under direction of Osborn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be F. Leonard Hargrove, Frank O. Looney, Gross Williams, Dewey A. Somdal, Robert Roberts Jr., J. Purcell Wallace, Millard Snyder and H. E. Linam.
