She regularly participated as a volunteer for church, school and other activities for her children. After many years as a housewife, Mrs. Wheat worked in administration, retiring in 2001. / P/ Mrs. Wheat is survived by her three daughters and their husbands: Cathy and Paul Koenekoop of Amstelveen, The Netherlands, Cynthia and Paul Peters of Flower Mound, Texas, and Marilyn and Mike Ingram of Austin, Texas. She was an adoring grandmother to her grandchildren, Elizabeth and John Peters, and leaves a beloved sister, Lena Jo Womack Mitchell, the youngest and last remaining member of their family. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews, as well as other family. / P/ Mrs. Wheat valued the traditions handed down by her parents of duty, commitment and sacrifice, and will be remembered as a woman of grace, dignity and wit. She has bequeathed to those who loved her a legacy of faith in Christ of the stature to carry on through difficult times and good, and she shall be often thought of and dearly missed. / P/ Mrs. Wheat was laid to rest in a graveside service held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Dresden Cemetery in Dresden, Texas. / P/ Obituary and guestbook online at wcfish.com.
