• Carl Friedrich Menzer was born on 22 May 1872 in Colmnitz, Sachsen.
• He was known as Fritz or Frederick after immigration.
• Carl Friedrich Menzer arrived in the Port of New York on 5 August 1899, aboard the United States SS St. Louis, having sailed from Southampton on 29 July.
• Carl Friedrich Menzer appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1900 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, at 138-1/2 Main Street boarding in the household of boot & shoemaker Frank Hewins. Although his birth is rocorded as May 1876, iit is not uncommon for incorrect information to be provided about a boarder.
• He was a shoemaker, according to the 1900 census.
• He married Elenora Heinrich on 24 November 1904 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee.
• He was naturalized on 20 February 1909 at the US District Court, Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee.
• Carl Friedrich Menzer and Elenora Heinrich appeared in the US federal census of 15 April 1910 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, at 978 Marion Avenue and two boarders.. Other members of the household included Frederick John Menzer.
• He was proprietor of a shoemaker shop, according to the 1910 census.
• He applied for a passport on 14 July 1914 while living in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, at 1609 Lamar Avenue.
• He arrived in the Port of New York on 22 August 1914, aboard the White Star Line SS Baltic, having departed Liverpool.
• Carl Friedrich Menzer and Elenora Heinrich appeared in the US federal census of 1 January 1920 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, at 920 Roland Street. Other members of the household included Frederick John Menzer.
• Carl Friedrich Menzer died on 19 April 1923 at age 50 in Arkadelphia, Clark County, Arkansas, or possibly 1928.
• His wife Elenora Heinrich became a widow at his death.
• He was interred at Memorial Park Cemetery, Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee.
