Enlisted 14 March 1862 in Montgomery County for the period of the war; he was a member of the band, and acted as a litter bearer 27 June 1862. Was a patient at St. Francis de Sales Hospital, Richmond, during 1862. Paroled at Appomattox Court House 9 April 1865.
