- The following appeared on 1 July 1887 in the Columbus Enquirer-Sun: The closing exercises of the orphan asylum school took place yesterday morning at the home on upper Fourth avenue. There was quite a large number of visitors present, who were delighted with the really excellent manner in which the children rendered the interesting programme arranged for the occasion. /P/ The home now contains seventeen children, and it is indeed a home to them. Miss Pope is the matron and she is eminently qualified for the position. Her administration is gentle though firm. The children love her and willingly obey her slightest wishes. After the exercises of the school several of the visitors, at the request of the matron, inspected the building from the kitchen to the attic. Everything was scrupulously neat and orderly. The managers say that the home was not specially arranged for inspection. It is found in the same neat condition every day. /P/ The school is in charge of Miss Ida Worrill. She has considerable experience in teaching and her pupils show that she has been patient and industrious. . . .
- The following appeared on 1 June 1890 in The Macon Telegraph: (Cuthbert, May 31) The exercises of the Andrew Female College formally opened yesterday by an examination of the little girls in the primary and intermediate classes. They showed much progress and grat proficiency in their respective studies. This deaprtment of the college is under the care of Miss Ida Worrill, formerly of Columbus.
