The sad news was received yesterday by Mr. Gregg. It was a great shock to him. His mother had been very ill recently with an attack of Pneumonia, but had recovered from it and was fully expected to recuperate rapidly from its effects. Mr. Gregg went to Sherman to attend his mother during her illness, but had returned home Monday, having left her, as stated, apparently recovering rapidly from the effects of the attack. Her sudden relapse was due to imperfect heart action.
Mrs. Lucie Goree Gregg was the widow of the late Judge Edward Pearsall Gregg, who was for many years a prominent lawyer of Sherman, having held the office of district judge of that district for a number of years. Judge Gregg was an uncle of Congressman A. W. Gregg of Palestine and was also related to several others of the name who were prominent men in their various professions. Mrs. Gregg is survived by five daughters and three sons, all of whom are grown. She was about sixty years old.
:TAB: Much sympathy is felt for Mr. Gregg in his heavy loss. He was very much attached to his mother, and suffers very greatly on account of her sudden death.
