William Taylor Wright

    Dr. Johnson V. Wright and his twin brother Dr. William T. Wright, were born 19 October 1821 in Conecuh County, Alabama, sons of Rev. Asa Wright. The family came to Texas in 1839. Both brothers were ordained ministers and were trained physicians. Dr. William Taylor Wright married Mary Carolyn Hibbetts on 17 January 1850 in Polk County, Texas. Mary was born in Tennessee, the daughter of Robert Hibbetts and Margaret Sharp. William T. and Mary C. Wright were enumerated in the Lone Oak area of Montgomery County in 1850, in the household of Dr. J. V. Wright. William’s occupation was given as physician. The couple moved from the Lone Oak area to the vicinity of Prairie Lea in Caldwell County after 1850. In 1860, they lived near Lockhart, and William's occupation was minister of the Baptist Church. By 1870, the family was living in Madison County with their six children, and by 1880, they had moved to Robertson County. Family records show that William died 12 June 1888 in Robertson County.
